1. Information we collect

Quiz participation

When you complete a quiz, the following information is automatically recorded:

• Your quiz score (e.g. 17 out of 20)
• Whether you passed or did not pass
• The date and time of your attempt (Indian Standard Time)
• Which quiz you attempted

Your name is entered locally on your device for the purpose of generating your certificate. Your name is not transmitted to us or stored on our servers.

Email subscription

If you choose to subscribe for notifications via the Stay Updated page, we collect your email address through Mailchimp, our email marketing provider. This is entirely voluntary.

2. How we use this information

• Quiz participation data (score, pass/fail, timestamp) is used solely to track participation levels and assess the reach of our educational initiatives. This data is anonymous and cannot be linked back to any individual.
• Email addresses collected via subscription are used only to notify you when new quizzes are published. We will not use your email for any other purpose.

3. Data storage

Anonymous quiz participation data is stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to authorised members of the IPS Psychopharmacology Specialty Section.

Email subscription data is stored securely by Mailchimp in accordance with their privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any notification email.

Quiz progress (to enable resuming a partially completed quiz) is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is automatically cleared when you complete the quiz.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except as described above (Mailchimp for email notifications, Google Sheets for anonymous participation logging).

5. Cookies

This website does not use cookies. Quiz progress is stored in localStorage, which is different from cookies and is not used for tracking or advertising purposes.

6. Your rights

You may request removal of your email address from our notification list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at hi@ipsquiz.com.

As quiz participation data is anonymous, we are unable to identify or retrieve individual participation records.

7. Compliance

This policy is consistent with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA). We collect only the minimum data necessary for our educational mission.
